The items that we do not grow ourselves are continually checked so high standards can be maintained and no added artificial ingredients or preservatives are included at any stage of the manufacturing process.

About Shaken Oak Products, Cotswolds

Shaken Oak Products are based at Shaken Oak Farm, which is situated on the edge of the Cotswolds in an area that was once part of the Royal Forest of Wychwood.

Nearby are the sites of two Roman villas and the farm lies directly on the route used by Charles 1 on his escape from Oxford in 1644.

The making of mustards at Shaken Oak started as a hobby satisfying the needs of family and friends.

This gradually led to enquiries from other mustard devotees and soon a cottage industry was established producing a range of handmade mustards and other products for the speciality food market.

In 1994 production was moved from the farmhouse kitchen to a purpose-built unit in an adjoining barn, with a further extension to the “Mustard House” being added in 2003.

Food safety at Shaken Oak

Food safety is a priority and we have implemented a HACCP (Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points) structure, which means that each critical stage in production is checked.

Shaken Oak Products have had a Five Star Food Hygiene Rating since 1995.

Traditional methods of manufacture

We have established ourselves to represent the authentic image of country fare: products actually made by small producers, using traditional methods of manufacture but employing modern quality controls, so the high quality of the products can be maintained.

Recognition of the quality of our products has led to inclusion in ‘Henrietta Green’s Food Lovers’ Guide to Britain‘, ‘The Which Guide to Country Shopping‘, ‘The Authentic Food Finder‘ and ‘Great British Food‘.
